How to Pack Picture Frames and Mirrors?

Moving fragile items like artworks or family photos might be seen as a scary prospect. Such precious objects can be easily damaged during a move if not handled safely.

Below are tips to help you properly pack picture frames and mirrors.

When packing picture frames, you will need a few materials:
· Thick brown packing paper
· Mirror boxes
· A roll of packing tape
· A permanent marker
Now that you know what you require let’s jump right in.

Before you begin packing, you should set up a packing area.

Use a moving blanket or any similar cloth to protect the tabletop or other surface and then gather all the other supplies you’ll need. Place the picture frame in the middle of the stack of brown packing paper and wrap it the same way you would a gift.

Use tape as much as is required to make sure the frame is secure. Even though the frame will be put into a box, it is always a good idea to label it once it is wrapped. You can mark which picture it is and to which room it belongs in your new home.

Next, start preparing your mirror box which in general is composed of two pieces that can fit around the frame and can be accommodated to the specific size you need.

Grab one section of the mirror box and stuff some packing paper into the corner and sides of it. This will give the frame some cushion.

Repeat the same with the other side of the box. The next step involves slipping the frame into one side of the box and pressing it firmly into the paper. Add some more brown paper around the frame if necessary. Then, slip the other part of the mirror box into the first and over the frame, press the two pieces of the box firmly together to ensure the frame will not move around.

If you are packing a bigger frame, you may need to use four sections of the mirror box. The box should be taped all the way around several times and in a few different places so that it does not come apart while transiting in a shaky vehicle.

Once your picture frame is packed, carefully label the box with its content and room destination. Now your frames are ready to embark on their journey to the new destination.

We hope that these tips will help you become an expert in packing picture frames and mirrors. Happy packing!
